Nickel Plating

AMS QQ-N-290, ASTM B689, AMS 2403

Nickel plating is used typically to provide moderate corrosion and oxidation resistance to metal parts but without control of other characteristics, and for the buildup of surfaces.

Nickel is a strong, lustrous metal that is often used as a base coat for subsequent plating of precious metal such as gold or silver for brightness.
